Discussion Held on First Quarter 2025 Progress in Internet Sector Improvements and Communication

On 30 June, a regular meeting of the Working Group on “Internet Connectivity and Internet Infrastructure,” led by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport within the framework of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, was held. The meeting was attended by the head and members of the Working Group, as well as representatives from the private sector.

During the event, participants reviewed the activities carried out in the first quarter of 2025 in line with the Roadmap for improvements and communication efforts related to the “Utilities (Internet)” indicator of the World Bank Group’s “Business Ready” report. Upcoming objectives and tasks were also identified.

The head of the Working Group, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samaddin Asadov, emphasized that the Ministry, along with other relevant institutions, is taking concrete steps to improve the business environment and strengthen the country’s position in international rankings.

The Deputy Minister noted that in response to the questionnaire sent by the World Bank to the Ministry, the relevant reporting information was submitted to the appropriate stakeholders at the beginning of January. Based on these indicators, the assessment of Azerbaijan is expected to be reviewed in the next edition of the “Business Ready” report, scheduled for publication in October 2025.
