About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Shahin Babayev has met with a delegation led by Enrico Pinali, Regional Head for Private Sector Development at the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the development of the transport sector in our country and the projects implemented by ADB in this field.

At the same time, the sides exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation between ADB and the Government of Azerbaijan in the transport sector.
