Deputy Minister Samir Mammadov met with delegation of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov has met with a delegation led by Alkis Vryenios Drakinos, Regional Director for Caucasus of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), who is on a visit to our country.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Samir Mammadov spoke about the work done on digitalization and diversification of transport in the country, development of transport corridors and other issues, as well as current projects and plans for the future, noting that the development of these areas is always in the focus of attention.

Vryenios Drakinos provided information on the draft project of the Bank’s new country strategy, which reflects Azerbaijan’s priorities and objectives for 2024–2029. He stressed the importance of the EBRD’s cooperation with Azerbaijan in the areas of digitalization and transport.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on promoting economic diversification by providing more support to private sector management and state-owned enterprises in transport, accelerating the transition to a green economy and enhancing regional connectivity.
