About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummatov met a delegation led by Owain Jones, Executive Vice President of Wizz Air Hungary.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to our country Tamas Jozsef Torman also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, they discussed the issues of cooperation in the field of aviation between Azerbaijan and Wizz Air.

At the same time, there was an exchange of views on the possibilities of increasing the number of the company’s flights to Baku and regional airports.

The guests were informed in detail on the work carried out in the field of aviation in our country.

Executive Vice President of Wizz Air Owain Jones said they were interested in increasing the number of flights to our country and through the region.
