Delegation from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport on visit to our country

A delegation led by Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdusamat Muminov is on a working visit to our country from 13 to 15 February.

 

During the visit, the first meeting of the Joint Working Group on Transport and Transit Cargo Transportation between the two countries was held. The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rahman Hummatov and Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdusamat Muminov.

 

The sides discussed the trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor, including the CASCA+  multimodal transport route, established with the participation of railway organizations of six  countries (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkiye, Uzbekistan), issues related to increasing the volume of freight traffic, improving transport conditions, developing infrastructure, and stressed the importance of continuing joint activities in this direction.

 

The delegation was informed of the Zangezur Corridor, which is an important initiative that will contribute to increasing the transit potential of the Middle Corridor, create new economic opportunities for the countries of the region, especially for the Turkic-speaking countries.

 

During the working visit, the delegation visited the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency and Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.

 

It should be noted that within the framework of the visit, the Uzbek delegation also plans to hold meetings at Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company JSC, Baku International Sea Trade Port JSC and Baku Shipyard.
