Bilateral documents signed in digital development and transport field during state visit of Azerbaijani President to Uzbekistan
During the state visit of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the Republic of Uzbekistan, an “Agreement on International Road Transport between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan” and a “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan” were signed.
The Agreement on International Road Transport will serve as a legal basis for the facilitation of bilateral and transit cargo transportation by road and the mutual exchange of permit forms between the competent authorities of the two countries.
In addition, the Agreement will contribute to the development of relations in the field of road transport, the organization of timely and unimpeded transportation of goods, increase trade turnover and freight traffic.
The Memorandum of Understanding in the field of ICT serves as a legal basis for the development of cooperation between relevant authorities of the two countries in the field of high technologies, joint research, as well as the development of innovation and startup ecosystem.
The Memorandum provides for the implementation of joint research programs for the creation and development of high technologies, the exchange of open scientific and technical information and technologies, the organization of incubation and acceleration programs for startups of the two countries, as well as co-financing of innovative projects.
