Baku hosts second meeting of Azerbaijan–Poland working group on transport and logistics

The second meeting of the Azerbaijan–Poland working group on transport and logistics has been held in Baku. The meeting was  co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rahman Hummatov and Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Bittel.

 

The current issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland in the field of transport and prospects for further development were discussed at the meeting. In this respect, issues related to cooperation between the seaports of the two countries, as well as the possibility of opening a direct flight between interregional airports were considered.

 

In addition, discussions were held on cooperation within the Middle Corridor and on exploring opportunities to diversify existing routes, as well as to exploit the transport and transit opportunities between the two countries.

 

The sides also touched upon cooperation in the field of road safety within the Poland–Lithuania twinning project “Increasing Road Safety in Azerbaijan”, which is currently being implemented in our country.

 

Following the results of the meeting, a protocol was signed.
