Aztelecom LLC covered 98% of Gobustan district with high-speed internet

Aztelecom LLC continues its work on upgrading telecommunications infrastructure and bringing it in line with modern international standards within the framework of the “Online Azerbaijan” project. At the next stage, the necessary equipment for the construction of the GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Networks) fibre-optic network providing fast and uninterrupted Internet service was installed and put into operation in Gobustan district, as well as project design work was carried out on the basis of GPON technology.

98% of Gobustan district is covered by high-speed Internet. About 6,000 households and businesses across the district are currently using the service. Connection of new subscribers continues.

With the introduction of the new GPON technology, subscribers are offered higher speed (from 100 Mbit/s to 250 Mbit/s) internet packages (Internet, Internet + telephony, Internet + television, Internet + telephony + television).

The cost of the services varies from 25 to 44 AZN depending on the selected tariff and user requirements.

To connect to the services, citizens can call 170 Call Center of Aztelecom, apply to the territorial service department  (address: 27 M.A. Sabir St., Gobustan city, tel: 202 45 01 21) or submit an application through the official website of the company.

Relevant work on provision of high-speed Internet in other regions of the country continues  in a planned manner within the framework of the “Online Azerbaijan” project on the use of modern technologies implemented by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

In 8 months of 2024, 0.98 million households and business entities in Azerbaijan got access to broadband Internet. A total of 2.9 million households in the country have access to broadband Internet. During the project implementation period, the number of households and business entities in the country with access to broadband Internet increased 13 times to 97%.
