Azerbaijani startup received award in Kazakhstan
The Caucasus and Central Asia 2024 hackathon was held in Kazakhstan within the framework of cooperation with Google. The Azerbaijani startup FarmForward took the 3rd place in the hackathon organized in Astana. More than 120 participants from 7 countries competed in the competition. The founder of the startup Altun Tarverdiyev was awarded by hackathon organizers.
At the event, our country was represented by a delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov.
During the visit, Deputy Minister Samir Mammadov met with Olga Skorokhodova, Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy for the Caucasus and Central Asia at Google, and Kanish Tuleyushin, Deputy Minister of Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the meetings, Samir Mammadov noted that Azerbaijan supports the policy aimed at protecting the ecological balance within the framework of digital transformation and the importance of taking effective steps in this direction during the COP29 event to be held in Baku in November. The deputy minister said that Azerbaijan is open to cooperation with startups to increase the potential of the newly opened Innovation Center.
It should be noted that the Caucasus and Central Asia 2024 hackathon, held under the motto “Build With AI for Sustainable Growth!”, brought together AI-based startups. A total of 21 startups made it to the final stage and and the top 3 teams were awarded based on the highest scores of the jury. The winning teams received cash prizes, and they were provided with incubation support and opportunities for cooperation with global technology firms.
