Azerbaijan Admitted to the DCO
The Republic of Azerbaijan has been admitted to the prestigious Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO).
This membership will create a range of important opportunities for Azerbaijan. Through the DCO platform, the country will gain access to advanced digital policies, the exchange of knowledge and experience, and international standards. At the same time, local startups will have access to the markets of member states, joint accelerator programmes, and venture capital funds.
Joint training and certification programmes for young people and ICT professionals will accelerate the development of digital skills and open up new opportunities for cooperation in e-commerce and data-driven business models. Furthermore, Azerbaijan will further strengthen its role as a digital bridge between the South Caucasus and Central Asia. In terms of the digitalisation of public services, the country will also be able to benefit from the experience of DCO member states in e-government, artificial intelligence, and smart solutions.
Furthermore, sharing Azerbaijan’s ICT potential, the work carried out within the framework of the Digital Development Council, the opportunities created for digitalisation, and the key digital projects implemented in recent years with the DCO and its member states, as well as exchanging knowledge and experience, will contribute to enhancing Azerbaijan’s export potential for digital products and services in the future.
These projects include the “mygov” and “mygov Business” platforms, which provide a unified electronic service system for citizens, government institutions, and businesses; “Digital Bridge”, which enables seamless data exchange among public digital services; “Digital Login”, a secure single sign-on system; the Digital Document Circulation System (RSD), which streamlines inter-agency document management; and SİMA, a free biometric digital signature solution.
Membership in the DCO will strengthen Azerbaijan’s cooperation at the regional and global levels in the fields of digital science, healthcare, education, trade, the economy, and security, while contributing to the coordination of legislation and policies that support digital transformation and the development of the technology market.
Established in November 2020, the DCO is a global multilateral organization that aims to accelerate inclusive growth in the digital economy and ensure digital prosperity for all.
