AYNA organized media tour to Unified Monitoring Center for Electronic Scales
The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), which constantly monitors the introduction of innovative technologies in the field of road infrastructure protection, road life extension and safety requirements, has organized a media tour to the Unified Monitoring Center for Electronic Scales.
The media representatives were provided with detailed information on the principle of operation of electronic scales installed in Garadagh district of Baku city and the Center’s activities during the media tour organized on 4 November.
The activities of the Unified Monitoring Center for Electronic Scales established by AYNA are aimed at controlling the permissible dimensional and weight parameters of large and heavy vehicles. The Monitoring Center collects, processes and uses information received from electronic scales in accordance with the legislation.
The Center, integrated into the information system of the Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, makes it possible to detect violations of the rules of operation of large vehicles.
Media representatives visited the section at 47.9 kilometers of Baku–Alat–Gazakh-Georgia highway to get acquainted with technical indicators of electronic scales. It should be noted that introduction of new technologies is aimed at protecting road infrastructure and ensuring safety requirements. A total of 51 scales are planned to be installed in 31 places. Six electronic scales have already been installed on the Baku-Guba-Russian Federation state border highway and Baku-Alat-Gazakh- Georgia state border highway, and work is underway on other sections as well.
According to the law, vehicles exceeding the permissible dimensional parameters are recorded by photo and video registration means and transmitted to the central information system. In accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences, fines ranging from 200 to 7,000 AZN are stipulated.
