Awarded employees in communication and information technology presented state awards
The ceremony of presenting state awards to employees in communication and information technology field, who were awarded by the relevant orders of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on December 6 – the professional holiday of communication and information technology workers, was held.
At the event, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev congratulated the awarded employees and thanked the President for his attention.
“I believe that such a high evaluation of work will motivate each employee to be more responsible, to work with great enthusiasm and perseverance,” the Minister said.
Rashad Nabiyev said that the development of the communications sector in the Soviet times and in independent Azerbaijan is associated with the name of national leader Heydar Aliyev. With the coming to power of President Ilham Aliyev, the use of innovative projects in the field of communications and information technologies were widely used in our country.
At the event, information was provided on the achievements of the Ministry last year, in particular, the work carried out in the territories liberated from occupation.
It was noted that 150,000 households have fibre-optic lines capable of providing modern high-speed Internet. By the end of 2024, 100 percent of homes will be provided with high-speed Internet using modern technology.
It was added that in 2021, the procedure for issuing insignia for vehicles was simplified, the rules for the distribution of “permit forms” for international road transport were changed, and the process of issuing certificates to seafarers was simplified.
It was noted that last year 4G mobile technology network was deployed in some 50 percent of the liberated territories, 35 percent of TV and radio broadcasting was restored, and postal services were launched in four directions. In addition, the installation of 1,400 km of fiber-optic lines continues. Currently, more than 1,500 km of roads, 3 airports and strategic railways linking the region with other regions are under construction.
In conclusion, the Minister spoke about the work to be carried out in 2022 in the field of digitalization and transport.
Then a documentary dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the establishment of telephone communications in Azerbaijan was shown.
During the event, state awards were presented to the persons awarded Labor Order 3rd class, the medal “Tereggi” and the honorary title Honored Engineer.
In addition, by Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 23, 2021 “On awarding government workers”, medals were presented to the awarded employees of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
