A meeting was held with taxi companies

A meeting was held with representatives of taxi companies operating in Azerbaijan at the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Digital development and Transport Rahman Hummatov, said that the main goal of the formation of a new state policy in the field of Taxi Passenger Transportation and the application of reform mechanisms is to provide citizens with better quality services.

The Deputy Minister noted that after the introduction of new requirements, there are such cases as the arrival of drivers to the addresses by different cars, the implementation of Passenger Transportation under the name of the delivery service, and transferring orders to unauthorized vehicles. Thus, applications received from citizens are examined and those who do not comply with the requirements of the legislation are excluded from transportation.

Requirements for vehicles involved in taxi activities were once again brought to the attention of the meeting participants. It was explained that passenger transportation can only be carried out by persons who have the appropriate permission.

Representatives of taxi companies also informed about the difficulties they are currently facing in this area and voiced their proposals for their solution.

At the meeting, discussions were held on measures to eliminate the listed shortcomings and control mechanisms. It was noted that work is underway to activate the functionality in the software of operators to notify the passenger about whether the vehicles arriving at the order are the same.

In the end, taxi companies were advised to eliminate the shortcomings mentioned in a short time and organize their activities under the requirements of the legislation.
