A joint radio monitoring and coordination meeting is held between the Communications Administrations of Azerbaijan and Turkey

Regarding the development of the field of telecommunications, including mobile communication services, in the "State Program for the socio-economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023 - 2027", approved by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 3910 dated June 5, 2023 The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan is implementing relevant measures together with the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Since the improvement of the coverage and service quality of mobile communications services depends on technical agreements with the border countries regarding the use of radio frequencies, along with additional investments in this area, work has begun to hold joint monitoring and coordination meetings with neighboring countries in this direction.

On November 15-17, 2021, the first meeting between experts on the regulation of TV/radio broadcasting and mobile communication services in the border areas with the Republic of Turkey was held in Ankara and relevant technical agreements were reached.

The development of mobile communication technologies in both countries over the past period, as well as the need to take appropriate measures for the tasks given in the mentioned State Program, including for the regulation and development of mobile communication networks in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has been taken into account. Thus, according to the agreement reached with the Turkish communications administration, joint radio monitoring was held in the border areas on July 8-10 of the current year. Discussions are held in Nakhchivan on July 11-12 to revise technical agreements on the results of these radio monitoring.

In these discussions, in order to ensure unhindered use of various frequency bands, including appropriate frequency bands for the application of radio and television broadcasting, new generation mobile communication networks and other terrestrial technologies in cross-border areas the results of joint monitoring are analyzed and opinions are exchanged on the necessary technical solutions to be implemented by the mobile operators of both sides.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the State Radio Frequency Department of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, The Information and Communication Technologies Agency, Information Communication Technologies Body of Turkey and the mobile operators of both countries.
