2.7 million farms in the country have access to broadband Internet
Within the framework of the “Online Azerbaijan” project implemented by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, during the 6 months of 2024, 0.8 million households and business entities in Azerbaijan have access to broadband Internet. In total, 2.7 million farms in the country have access to broadband Internet.
During the project, the number of household and business entities that had access to broadband internet in the country increased 12 times from 9% to 92%. During the first 6 months of the current year, compared to 2020, 5 times more households were provided access to broadband Internet and the total coverage increased by 26%.
In 30 regions of the country, more than 90%, in 23 regions - from 70 to 90%, and in others-up to 65% of farms have already been provided with broadband internet access.
Within the framework of this project, by the end of 2024, it is planned to provide all household and business entities with broadband internet through GPON and other broadband technologies, expand the use of high-speed internet and increase the percentage of fixed broadband internet subscribers in the country.
