Baku Hosts ITF Meetings

The meetings of the International Transport Forum (ITF) are being held in Baku. The four-day event includes the fourth-quarter sessions of the Research Committee. A total of 42 member countries are taking part in the sessions — the highest number in the Committee’s history.

In his remarks, ITF Secretary-General Young Tae Kim praised Azerbaijan for hosting the event at a high level. He delivered a report on the Forum’s activities, highlighting the implemented programs, research initiatives, and international cooperation efforts.

Participants reviewed the work carried out for 2024–2025. The Azerbaijani side emphasized the significance of the ITF report for the member countries.

The draft Work Program of the Research Committee for 2026–2027 was also discussed. Member countries exchanged views on future research priorities and put forward proposals for defining key focus areas. The Work Program includes two recommendations for Azerbaijan’s presidency of the International Transport Forum — concerning the digitalization of international transport connections and the development of urban transport.
