The next meeting of the Road Transport Group of the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT) was held in Malta. Azerbaijan was also represented at the meeting.

He emphasized that expanding the ECMT’s geographical scope is one of these priorities and that the Road Transport Group’s meeting serves as a productive platform for dialogue. The meeting also provides an important basis for the next steps in advancing digitalization, sustainability, and interregional connectivity in road transport.
The meeting concluded with several key outcomes, including the enhancement of the ECMT Digital System, which is scheduled to launch on January 1, 2026, ensuring more efficient integration between national authorities and carriers, and introducing a short transitional period during the switch to the new system. The meeting also approved the inclusion of zero-emission vehicles in the ECMT quota system starting in 2027.
