Azerbaijan’s Experience in Transport and Aviation Presented at ITF International Seminars

Seminars dedicated to enhancing the resilience of transport systems, energy security, digitalization, and the development prospects of air cargo were held in Paris under the auspices of the Corporate Partnership Board of the International Transport Forum (ITF).

At the seminar on road transport, Alish Ismayilov, the representative of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport seconded to the ITF, shared Azerbaijan’s experience in enhancing the resilience of urban transport systems. He provided information on the measures being implemented in Azerbaijan to transition public transport to a more environmentally sustainable model, including the procurement of electric buses and efforts to launch their local production. He noted that new approaches are being introduced to improve energy efficiency.

At the seminar dedicated to the aviation sector, Sadig Mehraliyev, Head of the Digital Products Center at Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) CJSC, delivered a presentation titled “Digital Transformation of Airlines.” The presentation covered AZAL’s digital transformation program, the modernization of flight operations management and passenger service systems, as well as other related initiatives.

At another event—a session dedicated to air cargo—Kamran Ramazanov, Head of the Cargo Department at AZAL, delivered a presentation titled “Airport Selection and the Impact of Existing Infrastructure on Sustainable Air Cargo Operations.” The presentation outlined the key criteria considered by cargo operators when selecting airports, including connectivity, infrastructure capabilities, the efficiency of customs procedures, and the level of digital readiness.
