Working Group on Transport, Communications and High Technologies holds regular meeting
The Working Group on Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Interdepartmental Center operating under the Coordination Headquarters, established to address issues in the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation in centralized manner, held a regular meeting.
The meeting was held with the participation of representatives of relevant government agencies included in the Working Group. They provided detailed information and held discussions on ongoing projects to restore transport and communications infrastructures in the territories liberated from occupation, as well as the work done on the construction of railways and highways, airports, creation of telecommunication networks in accordance with the existing demand and the implementation status of projects for the organization of communication services. The relevant agencies provided detailed information and held discussions on the preliminary results of radiological and radioecological research conducted in the territories liberated from occupation.
The meeting noted that construction and installation work is underway at Fuzuli Airport and the first flights to the airport are planned by the end of the year, as well as preparation and mobilization work is in progress to start construction of Zangilan and Lachin airports. Information was provided on the work done on the construction of Horadiz-Aghbend and Barda-Aghdam railway lines, as well as Ahmadbeyli-Fuzuli-Shusha (Victory Road), Horadiz-Jabrayil-Zangilan-Aghband, Gubadly-Lachin and other highways of particular importance for the reintegration of the Karabakh region into the country and the regional economy. The issues of preparation of project budget for infrastructure projects to be implemented in the territories liberated from occupation and acceleration of the process of coordination with relevant agencies, as well as the continuation of demining activities in accordance with priority implementation schedules, the importance of providing permanent power supply to the base station installations of mobile and special communication networks were highlighted, and relevant decisions were taken to accelerate the work in this direction.
The importance of implementing the work carried out by all government agencies to restore transport and communications infrastructures in the liberated territories, in coordination with the Interdepartmental Center through the Working Group, ensuring the active participation and mutual cooperation of each agency and representative in these processes was emphasized.
It should be noted that the Coordination Headquarters, established by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 24, 2020, is headed by head of the Presidential Administration Samir Nuriyev.
