Winning teams of Smart Karabakh Hackathon announced
During the 50-hour hackathon, 30 teams developed “smart solutions” to transform Karabakh into a normal region.
Winning teams of the Smart Karabakh Hackathon, held as part of the TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan Aerospace and Technology Festival taking place for the first time in Baku from 26 to 29 May, jointly organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey, have been determined.
Twenty teams from Azerbaijan and ten teams from Turkey prepared and presented to the jury “smart solutions” in the fields of education, agriculture, transport, household, energy consumption, water consumption, environment and security for the restoration of the liberated Karabakh.
The jury determined the winning teams based on the several key criteria: the relevance of the topic, concept and plan, as well as the team’s competence, presentation skills, new technologies used and technical solutions proposed, as well as the economic efficiency and implementation capacity of the project.
Azerbaijan’s team Safe Karabakh – Safe Karabakh mobile application took first place, Turkey’s team Sytemator – SINA drone (drone used against pests and pesticides in agriculture) – second place, Turkey’s team A – Sustainable ecologically smart city model – third place.
It should be noted that the prize fund of the Smart Karabakh hackathon is US$10,000 for the first place, US$5,000 for the second place and US$ 3,000 for the third place.
In addition, awards in the form of diplomas and souvenirs were given to the 8 best performing teams in the nomination “Best Project Presentation”. The following teams were awarded in this nomination are: Red Right Hand – in education, Empticus – in agriculture, Landcopter – in transport, Read Teammers – in household, ANKA – in energy consumption, Buta Group – in water consumption, ITU Bees R&D Team – in environment and the team Ejder – in security. The diploma is a sign of prestige and has no monetary equivalent.
