Winners of 3rd Robot Olympiad, held as part of InnoFest - Innovation Festival, represented Azerbaijan at World Robot Olympiad
The winners of the 3rd Robot Olympiad, held as part of the InnoFest - Innovation Festival at Heydar Aliyev Center, have represented our country at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) in the city of Gyor, Hungary.
450 teams from 73 countries took part in the tournament. Our country in the tournament was represented by three teams consisting of Baku Modern Educational Complex (Regular Category- Junior aged 13-15 years), Khazar University (Regular Category- Senior aged 16-19 years) and Baku Higher Oil School (Open Category- Senior aged 16-19).
The Baku Modern Educational Complex took 76th place among 96 teams, Khazar University – 33rd among 83 teams, Baku Higher Oil School – 15th among 34 teams.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan was elected a full member of the World Robot Olympiad in 2017. The World Robot Olympiad, which covers teenagers and young people and is the largest robotics competition, has been held annually since 2004 in different countries on various topics. 12 countries participated in the World Robot Olympiad, held for the first time in Singapore, now this number exceeds 70.
