About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Transport Coordination Committee of the Organization of Turkic States holds meeting

The Transport Coordination Committee of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) at the level of deputy ministers convened its meeting on 12 August 2022 in Istanbul, Turkiye.

Azerbaijan was represented at the event by a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummatov.

The meeting discussed the measures to facilitate transport and transit operations along the Trans-Caspian East–West International Transport Corridor (the Middle Corridor) and digitalization of transport procedures between member states.

Discussions were also held on the draft of “Agreement on International Combined Freight Transport between member states of the Organization of Turkic States”, increasing the number of flights between member states and preparations for the 6th meeting of transport ministers of OTS member states.
