About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

The Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT) brings to the attention of individuals and legal entities engaged in the sale of mobile devices at points of sales that they are allowed to sell only certified mobile devices with registered IMEI codes.

Registration of IMEI codes of all mobile devices available at sales outlets should be conducted by individuals and legal entities engaged in the sale of mobile devices.

With the purpose of protecting consumers’ rights, MCHT together with relevant authorities will check mobile devices available at sales points whether they have certificates with registered IMEI codes. Measures will be taken against those who are engaged in sale of non-certified mobile devices with non-registered IMEI codes in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Users are recommended to check the registration of IMEI code when buying a mobile device by visiting www.imei.az, www.e-gov.az , sending an SMS from mobile device with IMEI code to 1677, or calling 1677 Call Centre.

To display IMEI number of your mobile device just enter *#06# on the keypad.
