The project ‘Public Internet’ is recognized as ‘IT-event of the year’
Baktelecom has achieved another success. The project “Public Internet”, which was launched last year at the initiative of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, has become the winner of Azerbaijan National Internet Award NETTY 2017 in the nomination “IT-event of the year”.
The National Internet Award NETTY, which is aimed at supporting social projects and promoting information technologies, didn’t remain indifferent to free Wi-Fi service provided by Baktelecom.
Note that the initial stage of the project covers public recreation places.
Within the project, a total of 210 internet access points were set up in the territory of Maritime National Park, “Icherisheher” historical and architectural reserve, Sahil Garden and Heydar Aliyev Center.
The number of users of this service has exceeded 200 thousand people since March this year.
Given the growing demand for free Wi-Fi, Baktelecom is now expanding the coverage of this service.
In the near future, the public internet network will be extended to cover the Winter Park, Sabir Garden, Khagani Garden other recreation parks.
Work is also underway to improve the network and implement a new registration system.
After completion of this work, people will be able to more easily access and use free Wi-Fi service.
