Test flights conducted on Planer in preparation for TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan
Nineteen teams consisting of university students conducted a final test flight of gliders at Hajigabul Airport.
The final test flight of the competition Glider, held in preparation for the TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan Aerospace and Technology Festival, which will be held for the first time in Baku on 26 – 29 May this year, jointly organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey, have been implemented.
It should be noted that 12 teams from the National Aviation Academy of Azerbaijan, 3 teams from Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, 2 teams from Khazar University, 1 from Baku Higher Oil School and 1 from Azerbaijan Technical University participated in the competition.
The teams flew their legendary ASW 28 and Walker Sky X8 gliders at an altitude of 100 – 150m for 5 minutes on the route in autonomous mode.
In evaluating, the jury will evaluate the aircraft design and fuselage equipment, accurate telemetry, programming, autonomous flight mechanism, various sensors, and the practical implementation of the relevant geography with various sensors and useful cameras as critical selection criteria.
The names of the teams qualified for the TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan festival will be announced by the jury on May 24.
