Registration for virtual hackathon combining technological solutions to fight against coronavirus starts

With the organizational support of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the United Nations  Development Programme and the SUP.VC Acceleration Center, a Global Virtual Hackathon competition to combine technological solutions to combat the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) will be held.

The main goal of the Global Virtual Hackathon is to create an environment in which people could organize their work in the virtual world, learn, build a network, bridge the gap between trade relations, identify existing potential and get real results.

All processes, from the announcement of ideas to the stage of selection, testing of prototypes and implementation of ideas, are carried out in a virtual form.

Registration for the competition, the official language of which is English, starts today. To participate in the competition, participants must register at www.hackcov19.com. In order to register, you need to fill out a short form. A video about the existing solution with a maximum duration of one minute should be uploaded to the application form. The videos will also be streamed on social media platforms.

The deadline for registration will end on April 9, 2020, at 21:00 Baku time.

Participants will work with mentors and submit their solution methods online to a jury composed of local and international experts.

The competition for selected participants will begin on April 10 this year. The jury will determine the winning projects and participants at the final stage, which will be held on April 12.

The final decision of the jury will be based on the effectiveness of the proposed solution, as well as on how easily and quickly the idea can be implemented at the local, regional and international levels.

The winner of the first place will receive $5,000, the second place – $3,000, and third place – $2,000. Prizes will be transferred to the winners’ bank accounts.
