Provision of broadband services via GPON technology started in Ivanovka and Lahij
Aztelecom LLC under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport started providing broadband c (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) technology in Ivanovka village and Lahij settlement of Ismayilly region.
The OLT (Optical Line Terminal) equipment, required for the introduction of GPON technology, is already installed in these settlements.
More than 19km fiber optic cable have been laid and 461 iron poles have been used to build the line network in the village of Ivanovka.
The introduction of the latest generation equipment enables over 1,200 families in the village of Ivanovka to connect to the network and receive quality services. The technical capacity is built with an eye to increasing the number of new subscribers in the future. At present 139 subscribers are using the new service in the village and number of daily connections continues to grow.
In addition, 115 subscribers in the neighboring village of Balik will be provided with telephone and internet services.
The OLT equipment is also installed in Lahij settlement using GPON technology. After the completion of the construction work, residents of 10 surrounding villages (Eregit, Ahan, Namazgah, Gendov, Garagaya, Serdahar, Haftasiyab, Chandahar, Brovdal and Zarat) will also be able to use the new service.
Currently, about 8km of fiber optic cable has been laid in Lahij and Eregit, 125 wooden and iron poles have been installed, 54 subscribers are using the new service, and new daily connections are continuing.
With the introduction of the new GPON technology, subscribers have the opportunity to use the internet at higher speeds (up to 100 Mbit/s).
It should be noted that the planned work to introduce modern technology will continue in other regions.
