Procedure for issuing insignia simplified
With a view to improving the procedural rules related to carriage by road, changes have been made in the procedure for issuing insignia.
The aim is to provide convenience for carriers and drivers, minimize physical contact and avoid abuse during the process.
Prior to the introduction of the new rules of procedure, insignia was issued within two working days on the application of the taxpayer.
It should be noted that taxpayers carrying out passenger and freight transportation by road (except for taxpayers carrying out regular intracity passenger transportation by road and passenger transportation by taxi in the administrative territory of Baku city), the insignia and special insignia are issued by the State Road Transport Service under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Those engaged in passenger and goods transportation by road had to get an insignia, a strict reporting form for the next month, quarter, half year or year, for each vehicle from the State Road Transport Service till the end of the calendar month depending on their needs.
According to the new rules, a person who is engaged in these activities or who wants to receive the insignia, when applying transport service centers operating at bus stations, including the Baku International Bus Station Complex, will be informed in detail about the mechanism for performing the procedure. At the initial stage, the taxpayer must fill out an application form in the Shebeke Service Center of Azerpost located on the first floor of the Baku International Bus Station Complex, and contacting relevant departments of Azerpost in other cities and regions of the country. In the next stage, the person engaged in passenger transportation (as well as the new applicant) provides a vehicle certificate and receives an insignia after paying the transportation service tax. At the end of the process, the vehicle undergoes technical visual inspection at the technical inspection center located on the territory of bus stations. After registration of the results of the technical inspection, the taxpayer receives permission for carrying out activities by vehicle.
The general procedure to complete this process is 40 minutes. Reducing the execution time from 2 working days to 40 minutes saves the entrepreneur’s time, taxes will be paid completely transparent, and the whole process will be organized in a single space.
It should be noted that for the organization and implementation of the process, inspectors of the Road Transport Organization LLC were sent to bus stations and to the relevant departments of Azerpost.
