Postage stamp dedicated to 85th anniversary of Azerbaijan Union of Architects issued

Azerpost LLC under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport has issued a postage stamp dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan.

The issue is made in the form of a one-stamp souvenir sheet. The postage stamp was printed in Bobruisk Integrated Printing House in Belarus with a print run of 5,000 copies.

The author of the postage stamp is artist Orkhan Garayev.

Along with the postage stamp, 200 First Day Covers were also issued.

It should be noted that as a result of the idea, initiative and efforts of Board Chairman of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan Elbay Gasimzade, the publication of postage stamps dedicated to Azerbaijani architecture and the work of our distinguished figures in architecture began in 2014. The sketch of the stamp issued was made in accordance with the theme.

Shebeke art has been used in Azerbaijani architecture since the 11th and 12th centuries and is considered an example of intangible cultural heritage.
