Opening of new technology-based electronic scales on Baku–Guba–Russian Federation border highway took place

The opening of electronic scales based on new technology took place today at the 45th kilometer of the Baku–Guba–Russian Federation border highway in cooperation with the Turkish company ASELSAN.

One of the main issues to be considered when implementing road projects is to extend the service life of roads with the use of new technologies and innovations, to ensure safety and other requirements.

The implementation of new technologies in order to prevent violations of axle mass parameters of large and heavy vehicles to protect public roads, and the work to install appropriate electronic scales on the roads, creating the possibility of issuing an electronic administrative penalty for violations of requirements in this area, is carried out in two stages.

Given the structural and engineering features of the highways, at the first stage a total of 19 scales will be installed at 11 points on the right and left-hand sides of the highway. The project is scheduled to be completed by October 2024.

The second phase envisages the installation of 29 scales at 20 points on the right and left sides of the roads.

It is planned to set up a weight management center for data collection in a single center.

In this regard, an administrative offence committed by large or heavy-duty vehicles is detected by means of electronic scales and appropriate work is under way to ensure that an electronic decision is issued and the information is transferred to the electronic database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
