Online event “FemTech – Women in Technology” held as part of InnoWeek – Innovation Week 2020

Within the framework of InnoWeek – Innovation Week 2020, an online event “FemTech – Women in Technology” was held, organized jointly by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and the FemTech platform, in partnership with Wonder Women Azerbaijan, Girls Code Azerbaijan, Femmes Digitales and Wowoman Azerbaijan.

The aim of the event was to educate women in technology, to provide information on the importance of education in this area and a wide range of employment opportunities, to create a network of women leaders in the field of technology.

The event, which was attended by speakers, startup founders and women leaders from Azerbaijan, the United States, Turkey, Switzerland, Belgium and Denmark, consisted of three  parts: “Conversation with the Founder Woman”, “Panel Discussion” and “Master Class”.

In the first part of the event, a discussion was held on the topic “How to develop a startup ecosystem as a woman founder?”, in the second part –“Encouraging girls to pursue a technological career and develop in this area”, in the third part –“Master class on pitching for woman startup founders”.

At the event, ways to regulate gender balance and eliminate stereotypes in the startup ecosystem were proposed. The audience, consisting mainly of young girls, took an active part in the event and received answers to their questions.
