New competition – Glider launched within TECHNOFEST
Azerbaijani students will have the chance to test their knowledge and skills in another interesting competition in preparation for the TECHNOFEST Aerospace and Technology Festival.
We would like to inform you that the TECHNOFEST Aerospace and Technology Festival will be organized for the first time in Baku by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 26 –29 May this year. The main purpose of the TECHNOFEST, which has become an international brand, is to popularize the fields such as aviation, space industry, digital economy and education among young people, promote entrepreneurship in these fields, reveal the knowledge and skills of young engineers through competitions organized as part of the festival, as well as present national technologies to the general public.
One of the most interesting competitions of the festival to be held in Baku, is Glider, specially designed for students and Masters of higher education. Thus, Azerbaijani students will be able to take a direct part in the development of the legendary glider model ASW 28.
During model development, students will practise aircraft design and fuselage hardware, precision telemetry, programming, autonomous flight mechanism, collection of flight data during flight through various sensors and useful cameras.
According to the competition conditions, teams of six students can participate in Glider. Teams must involve a mentor in group work and be represented in a stable line-up until the finals. Each team must also choose a captain from among the members of its team.
We would like to note that the teams participating in the competition will be provided with technical assistance in the amount of about 800 US dollars to use the relevant equipment for the implementation of the project.
University students participating in category B will be able to take part in the competition for a prize fund consisting of 6,000 AZN for 1st place, 4,000 AZN – for 2nd place, 2,000 AZN – for the 3rd place.
