MTCHT implements a range of urgent measures to prevent spread of coronavirus infection

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies (MTCHT) is implementing a number of urgent measures to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

 

The State Road Transport Service under the Ministry, together with carriers engaged in international and domestic passenger transportation in 56 bus terminals and bus stations operating on the territory of the republic, provides daily disinfection of vehicles, as well as territories of bus terminals, waiting rooms, office rooms, cultural and social and sanitary-hygienic facilities.

 

Disinfection of vehicles on night flights is carried out from 06:00, on other flights - at night.

 

According to the instructions of the State Road Transport Service, today in the Baku International Bus Terminal Complex the necessary measures and disinfection work were carried out in vehicles, on platforms, in ticket offices, waiting rooms, information center, sanitary facilities, transport centers and public catering facilities, hostel, hotel, gas-filling station, technical inspection rooms, first aid rooms and “Shebeke” service center.

 

The information center of the Baku International Bus Terminal Complex (012 406-01-58 / 59) operates around the clock to receive requests for delayed flights due to coronavirus and resolve other issues that may arise.

 

Citizens who have been in the Islamic Republic of Iran over the past 14 days will not be allowed to cross the Azerbaijani-Georgian border. This information is available both at the box offices and on the site.

 

Disinfection work carried out in buses carrying out intercity and international flights every 3 days, is carried out daily in connection with the situation.

 

Taking into account the current passenger security procedures, passengers are advised to travel by buses operating regular flights, not to use vehicles that are outside the bus terminal.

 

Daily disinfection work is also carried out in vehicles of the Baku Taxi Service LLC operating in the capital. Drivers are provided with the necessary items to protect themselves from viruses.

 

Appropriate measures are also taken by Azerpost LLC. Disinfection work is carried out in the Mail Delivery Center, “Shebeke” service centers, branch post offices and post offices. The Mail Delivery Center, communications agency Azerexpresspost, branch post offices in Astara, Bilasuvar, Gazakh, Balaken, Khachmaz, Gusar, Aghstafa are provided with masks, gloves and alcohol.

 

Awareness-raising activities on coronavirus were carried out with employees who are constantly in contact with the population upon recommendations of the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

Disinfection work is carried out in working rooms, sanitary facilities, corridors, elevators, stairs, turnstiles installed at the entrance and door locks in the central administrative building of Aztelecom LLC  4 times a day.

 

Additionally, it is planned to purchase the necessary virus protection products for use in 57 telecommunication centers subordinated to Aztelecom LLC.

 

Baku Telephone Communications LLC, its communications service centers, automatic telephone exchanges, telecommunications operator AzEvroTel and Azerrabitalayihe LLC carry out a number of preventive measures to prevent a new type of coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

 

An informative article on the coronavirus has been prepared and submitted to Baktelecom  service centers. A hotline was established (598 38 99 and 598 46 99) and its operation was ensured 24/7. Hotline workers have been instructed about a viral infection. Disinfection work is also carried out in the service centers, entities and offices of Baktelecom.

 

For the purpose of timely and accurate collection of information, it was instructed to inform the operations control center until 9:20 a.m. about employees who contacted hospitals with respiratory diseases, as well as calls made to the hotline in connection with the coronavirus.

 

In order to strengthen efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the office building, service centers, agencies and divisions of Baktelecom, providing the publication of information prepared by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Azerbaijani language has already begun.

 

In order to improve the conditions for employees to follow the rules of personal and community hygiene, antiseptic solutions, liquid soap, medical gloves and masks, and other preventive medications were purchased to the required extent.

 

As part of the project Fiber to the Home, it was instructed to provide employees who are constantly in contact with the public with protective equipment (medical gloves, medical masks and N95 masks, and alcohol-containing sanitizers) while providing other telecommunications services.

 

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, in order to prevent the possible danger of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and cases of its spread, temporarily suspended a number of public events scheduled for March. Thus, the dates of startup tours “I2B – From Idea to Business”, which were planned to be held in regions, the Youth Forum on Internet Governance on Cybersecurity as part of the 2nd International Cybersecurity Week and other events, have been changed.
