MTCHT holds commemoration ceremony on 94th anniversary of birth of Heydar Aliyev
Today, on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the national leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, the employees of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies (MTCHT) visited the Alley of Honor to pay the tribute to the memory of Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of modern Azerbaijan and laid a wreath on his grave.
The employees of the ministry also paid a tribute to prominent scientist-ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva and laid flowers at her grave.
Then, an event was held in the ministry to commemorate the great leader.
At the event, a film dedicated to the life and activity of the national leader Heydar Aliyev was shown.
Addressing the event, Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade spoke about glorious and meaningful way of life of the national leader, his rich state experience and invaluable merits. The Minister said that the great leader had laid the foundation for further comprehensive development of Azerbaijan.
Characterizing Heydar Aliyev as an outstanding statesman and wise politician, Ramin Guluzade said that thanks to his great efforts, stability, peace and tranquillity reigned in the country, political reforms were implemented, democratization, economic progress and social well-being were achieved.
The Minister noted that Heydar Aliyev attached great importance to the development of all areas of the economy in the country, including transport and creation of a new transport infrastructure.
“Under his leadership, capital work was carried out in railway, air and water transport, the intensity and volume of freight and passenger traffic was increased. The urban transport and underground system were also developed, new stations were built, passenger transport was modernized,” said the Minister.
Ramin Guluzade said that during all periods of Heydar Aliyev’s tenure, along with transport, special attention was also paid to the development of communications in Azerbaijan.
As a result of Heydar Aliyev’s far-sighted policy, wide-ranging reforms were implemented in the country to bring the sphere of information and communication technologies to the level of modern requirements.
“A worthy successor to the political course of the great leader, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has declared this sphere a priority and constantly keeps its development in the focus of attention, due to which we are also making every effort to develop the sector of information and communication technologies,” the Minister said.
The other speakers spoke about the life path of the founder of the modern Azerbaijan, his historical merits before the homeland and the people, including the success achieved in all areas of the social and economic life in Azerbaijan. It was noted that the progress achieved as a result of the far-sighted policy of national leader Heydar Aliyev, have created a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the country’s economy in the years to come.
