Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies marks Remembrance Day

An event was held in the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies on the occasion of September 27 – the Day of Remembrance in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

First, a wreath was laid in front of the corner dedicated to the memory of the martyrs in the administrative building of the ministry, and a minute of silence was observed in the memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country.

 

Then there was held an event on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance – National Pride Day.

 

In his speech, Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Rashad Nabiyev said that Mr. President Ilham Aliyev’s order to mark September 27 – the day of the beginning of the Patriotic War – as the Day of Remembrance in the Republic of Azerbaijan is a sign of high respect for the souls of martyrs and relatives of martyrs.

 

It was stated that a year ago, our heroic army launched a counterattack against the Armenian armed forces in order to repulse another provocation of the enemy. This attack resulted in the defeat of the enemy and the liberation of our lands, which have been under occupation for 30 years. Under the leadership of Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani people, the Azerbaijani Army forced Armenia to sign an act of capitulation.

 

It was noted that no victory was achieved easily, that our lands were liberated from enemy occupation at the cost of the blood and lives of our heroic soldiers. It was also noted that 210 employees of the ministry and its agencies took part in the battles, six of whom became martyrs.

 

The event also highlighted the care shown by President Ilham Aliyev to the families of martyrs, our veterans, attention to their rehabilitation, as well as the work done to address their social problems.

 

In conclusion, a short documentary dedicated to the Patriotic War was shown.
