Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies holds conference dedicated to 100th anniversary of Lotfi Zadeh
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies organized a conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the world renowned Azerbaijani scientist, founder of fuzzy logic theory Lotfi Zadeh.
At the beginning of the event, a short documentary film about the life and work of Lotfi Zadeh was shown.
Then Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Rovshan Rustamov delivered a speech at the event. The Deputy Minister spoke about the unprecedented merits of the great Azerbaijani scientist in the development of mathematics, cybernetics, informatics and computing technologies.
Rovshan Rustamov noted that Lotfi Zadeh is a great person who put forward important ideas that affect not only scientific and philosophical thought, but also technological development: “The scientific schools and laboratories created by him have been operating in many countries of the world for more than half a century. Lotfi Zadeh was a member of a number of foreign academies and an honorary doctor of dozens of foreign state and public organizations,” the Deputy Minister stressed.
During the event, various aspects of Lotfi Zadeh’s science were discussed.
Director General of the Institute of Control Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Academician Ali Abbasov, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Applied Mathematics of Baku State University, Academician Fikret Aliyev and other speakers spoke about the fundamental theories of the prominent scientist and held scientific discussions.
