Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies extends validity period of appropriate licenses of mobile operators

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and Azercell LLC, Bakcell LLC and Azerfon LLC have signed corresponding licensing agreements for a period of 10 years.

These agreements include licenses for the types of activities for mobile communication services (technological standards 2G (GSM), 3G (UMTS) and 4G (LTE).

The issuance of appropriate licenses to mobile operators will allow them to provide their subscribers with more efficient, high-quality and professional services using new generation technologies and technological standards. Along with this, the issuance of licenses will contribute to the development of a sustainable and secure digital infrastructure in the country, as well as to the acceleration of digital transformation.

It should be noted that mobile operators have been operating on the basis of appropriate licenses since 1996. Thus, Azercell LLC and Bakcell LLC entered the market in 1996, and Azerfon LLC - in 2005 and have been providing telecommunication services in accordance with a license for mobile communication services.
