Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat

A bilateral meeting was held today between the co-chairs of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Arab Republic of Egypt, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev and Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, who is on a visit to our country.

It was emphasized at the meeting that the fifth meeting of the Joint Commission coincided with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt. It was noted that economic and cultural relations between the two countries are at a high level.

Satisfaction was expressed that in 2021 the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Egypt increased by over fivefold. It was added that there is a real potential to further increase trade.

During the meeting, it was noted that businessmen have a special role in increasing trade and mutual investments, and from this point of view, the importance of organizing an Azerbaijan-Egypt Business Forum within the framework of the commission’s meeting was noted.

In addition to the issues of promoting trade, industry and mutual investment, the sides exchanged views on possibilities for cooperation in the areas of education, culture and tourism.
