Minister Rashad Nabiyev meets with Iraqi Communications Minister Arkan Al-Shaibani

Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Rashad Nabiyev met with Minister of Communications of Iraq Arkan Al-Shaibani, who is on a visit to our country to participate in the second meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Iraq.

The meeting discussed economic relations between the two countries, including cooperation in the field of ICT.

Confidence was expressed that this visit would contribute to the further development of existing relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, it was noted that digital transformation and innovative development are among the priority issues on the agenda of the Government of Azerbaijan.

In conclusion, Minister Rashad Nabiyev expressed gratitude to the Iraqi side for supporting Azerbaijan’s position within international organizations, especially the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, in adopting resolutions calling for an end to Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan, the liberation of the occupied territories, and the return of IDPs to their native lands.
