Minister Ramin Guluzade spoke at event organized on occasion of Austrian National Day

The Austrian Embassy in Azerbaijan organized an official reception on the occasion of the National Day of Austria.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade congratulated the Austrian people on the National Day of Austria on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and wished them progress, prosperity and peace.
Noting the positive dynamics of development of political, cultural, economic and commercial relations between the two countries, the Minister noted that these relations are developing steadily.
Ramin Guluzade said that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Austria amounted to $397 million in 2018, and there are ample opportunities to increase this figure. “The high-level relations between our countries have entered a new stage of development with the Joint Declaration signed by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Austria on May 13, 2013.The Declaration briefly outlines the close partnership between our countries and reflects a number of issues, including the Austrian position on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. “We highly appreciate Austria’s fair position on the peaceful settlement of the conflict on the basis of the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and the principle of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders of states,” the Minister said.
Recalling that over 40 documents have been signed between Azerbaijan and Austria so far, the minister said that more than 10 documents are currently being considered between the sides. “Today Austria is a reliable partner of Azerbaijan in Europe, and Azerbaijan – a reliable partner of Austria in the South Caucasus region. Businessmen play an important role in the development of economic cooperation between our countries. Austrian companies were involved in a number of important infrastructure projects implemented in Azerbaijan over the years.”
Ramin Guluzade noted that there is great potential for further development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Austria in the fields of innovative technologies, transport, healthcare, energy, industry and agriculture.
In conclusion, the Minister expressed confidence in the further development and strengthening of ties between our countries.
