Meeting held between representatives of communications administrations of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan regarding coordination of frequencies of terrestrial services

On 27–29 August, Baku hosted a meeting between representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan regarding coordination of frequencies of terrestrial services.

The meeting discussed coordination work with Kazakhstan to ensure smooth operation of FM radio broadcasting stations purchased and installed in Baku city and northern region, as well as those to be installed in the near future in accordance with Order №3981 dated 24 July 2023 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding allocation of financial resources for expansion of radio broadcasting network in the territory of the country.

Discussions were also held on coordination of frequencies of DAB+ digital radio broadcasting stations, installed in Baku city and planned to be installed in the northern region in connection with the transition to Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB+), approved by Order №818 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 7 October 2023. At the request of Kazakhstani specialists, an exchange of experience was held on the work being carried out in Baku on digital radio broadcasting.

During the meeting, relevant technical agreements were reached on the introduction of new generation mobile communications services in the 700 MHz and 800 MHz frequency bands.

In addition to representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the coordination meeting was attended by specialists from the Information and Communication Technologies Agency, State Administration of Radio Frequencies and Teleradio PA.
