Meeting held between representatives of communication administrations of Azerbaijan and Georgia
On 23–28 September, a joint radio monitoring of radio, TV broadcasting and mobile communication networks in the border areas was conducted, and a coordination meeting was held in the city of Ganja with the joint participation of representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (MDDT) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Communications Commission of Georgia.
The meeting was also attended by specialists from the Information and Communication Technologies Agency, the State Administration of Radio Frequencies of MDDT, and mobile operators.
The results of the joint radio monitoring revealed that TV and radio broadcasts from both sides were conducted in accordance with the conditions of coordination, and no interference was detected. Although the operators of both countries had taken appropriate measures to regulate mobile networks, an agreement was reached on additional technical adjustment work.
At the meeting, coordination work was discussed with Georgia in order to ensure unimpeded operation of FM radio broadcasting stations installed in the border territories in accordance with the relevant order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on allocation of financial resources for expansion of radio broadcasting network in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In connection with the transition to DAB+ standard digital radio broadcasting, a preliminary coordination of frequencies of DAB+ standard digital radio broadcasting stations to be installed in the western and north-western regions of the republic was carried out.
In the course of the discussions, they exchanged experiences on the ongoing work in both countries on the transition to the 5th generation (5G) technology, the radio frequencies assigned to mobile operators and the conditions for their use.
