MDDT representative appointed program manager at a prestigious international organization
The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (MDDT) successfully continues its cooperation with international organizations. One of the measures taken to develop cooperation is to increase representation in international organizations.
Thus, as a result of negotiations with the Universal Postal Union (UPU), Anar Mejidov, head of the international transport department of Azerpost LLC, started working as the UPU’s program manager for Europe and CIS countries starting on March 4. Anar Mejidov will organize and evaluate the work related to the organization’s technical cooperation programs and projects to be implemented in Europe and CIS countries during his tenure in this position.
The admission of Azerbaijan’s representative to an important position in such a prestigious international organization is a manifestation of our country’s long-term and close cooperation with UPU. The relationship established through effective cooperation between UPU and Azerbaijan has an important impact on the development and modernization of postal services in the region and around the world. The new appointment, in turn, will create additional opportunities to further expand cooperation across the region, increase international expertise in the country, promote additional projects and programs, and further develop UPU’s activities in Europe and CIS countries.
The appointment is the next step in the parties’ efforts to strengthen cooperation in the postal sector. The new phase provides a solid basis for further strengthening cooperation towards future prospects and ensuring that postal services meet modern standards.
