Let’s defend ourselves in cyberspace!

In recent days, as a result of the provocation committed by Armenia, there has been an escalation of the situation at the front line. Meanwhile, an increase has been observed in the number of individual provocations from the opposite side. And these provocations continue in cyberspace. Thus, in recent times massive attacks have been carried out on the accounts of social network users, networking devices – routers or modems in our country, attempts are being made to cause fear or anxiety by spreading misinformation among people.
Today, access to mobile technologies and the Internet has the potential make everyone a participant and victim of the information war.
It is during this time that it is especially important for each of us should be particularly sensitive to the issue of cyber security and follow the rules of cybersecurity.
The Electronic Security Service under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies once again urges citizens to be vigilant in the light of the current situation and follow simple cybersecurity rules:
– Do not open unfamiliar social media links sent to your phone or email by strangers, and do not download any files or applications.
– Do not answer messages and calls from unknown numbers. Even if you know the source, first check the accuracy of the message.
– Protect the security of your social media accounts. Use two-factor authentication and strong passwords. More information is available at https://cert.az/.../diqqetsosial-media-hesablarinizin-tehluke...
– Protect the security of your Wi-Fi network and set the appropriate settings without wasting time. More information is available at https://cert.az/.../diqqet-wi-fi-sebekenizin-tehlukesizliyini...
– Pay attention to the origin and reliability of the applications used on your phone. Some apps can steal your personal information without your knowledge. Remove apps that you are not using.
– Do not trust every piece of information that is spread and do not rush to act immediately. Be skeptical about every message you receive and verify its authenticity from an official source.
– Follow the simplest cybersecurity rules for your social media accounts, devices and all devices connected to the internet. Remember that every device connected to the internet is a cyber threat in itself.
– Do not use weak passwords, including standard usernames and passwords. Change these passwords immediately.
– Update your software regularly and use antivirus software.
– Regularly learn and educate others about cyber threats and how to protect against them. Regularly educate yourself and those around you about cyber threats and ways of protecting against them.
Remember, the best way to defend against any attack is to stay informed and act in a timely manner!
