As a follow-up to the policy of Great Return, travel of Azerbaijani citizens and foreign tourists to the territories liberated from occupation is facilitated.
If until now citizens visited the territories liberated from occupation only by organized bus trips and group tourist travels to certain destinations, from 27 December this year they will also be able to visit Shusha city and Sugovushan settlement by private cars. To do this, they need to obtain a travel permit starting from 25 December through Yolumuz Qarabağa portal – www.yolumuzqarabaga.az ). Travelling to Shusha will be possible via Victory Road, through Alkhanli checkpoint of Fuzuli region, and to Sugovushan settlement – through Tartar and Goranboy regions (Tapgaragoyunlu village).
A series of rules will be applied when issuing permits for citizens to travel in the direction of Shusha city and Sugovushan settlement. For more information on this, please visit www.yolumuzqarabaga.az.
Personal passenger cars are understood as vehicles with the state vehicle registration plate of the Republic of Azerbaijan, corresponding to category B, with no more than nine seats, including the driver’s seat. The validity period of permits is two days for Shusha city and one day for Sugovushan settlement. In order to streamline travelling and ensure passenger safety, initially, 80 cars will be allowed to enter Shusha and 60 cars will be allowed to enter Sughovushan during the day.
Drivers of passenger cars should familiarize themselves with the travel rules, information on mine safety on the portal and inform the persons travelling with them about it, not to go beyond the route after entering the territories liberated from occupation and passing appropriate mine safety inspection, be careful at intersections, drive the vehicle without stopping to the final point of the route. Before travelling, citizens can book rooms by contacting the hotels listed on the portal.
We would like to inform you that group tourist tours in the direction of Baku–Shusha, as well as bus trips organized through the portal www.yolumuzqarabaga.az will be carried out in the same order. From now on, foreign nationals will be allowed to participate in tourist tours and local and foreign tourists will be able to apply to any tour company to participate in tours. Group travels in the direction of Sugovushan will be organized by tour companies that are classified as tour operator and tour operator – tour agent in the State Tourism Register (data.tourism.gov.az).
