Innovation & Digital Development Agency, ABB Innovation Centre launch another collaboration
Registration has begun for the 3rd ABB Hackathon as part of the Technest educational programme.
Registration for the 3rd ABB Hackathon has been launched as part of the partnership between Innovation and Digital Development Agency and ABB Innovation Centre to accelerate the training of national personnel in the field of information technologies. This hackathon will take place within the Technest educational programme implemented by Innovation and Digital Development Agency since 2021 and the startup development programme of the ABB Innovation Center.
The main directions of the 3rd ABB Hackathon include digital banking, developing cashless payment infrastructure, optimizing transfers and integrating the ‘Get Your VAT Back’ service. The hackathon is open to anyone interested in innovative digital business solutions. With the support of local experts and mentors with international experience, participating teams will be able to further develop their business ideas. The best projects that meet the digital innovation concept and preincubation goals will be accepted into the incubation programme of the ABB Innovation Centre. A prize fund has also been established for the winning teams of the hackathon. The prize fund will be presented to the startup teams as an investment during the incubation period. According to the terms and conditions of the hackathon, a prize fund of 5000 AZN has been determined for the first place, 3000 AZN for the second place and 2000 AZN for the third place. It should be noted that the Technest educational programme was launched in 2021 at the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim of the programme is to accelerate the training of national personnel in the field of information technologies, address existing shortcomings in this area and contribute to the digital development of the country. The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport along with the Code and More education project, established by the ministry together with startup Whelp on a public-private partnership basis, and the Ministry’s ICT Application & Training Centre (İKT LAB) works closely with Code Academy, which organises professional ICT courses in the country, the Israel-Azerbaijan Training Centre, Tech Academy, the ABB Tech Academy and the Innovation Centre.
Technest currently has 120 schoolchildren, 618 students and graduates in various fields such as cloud solutions, cloud administration, big data, cybersecurity, automation, electronics, various programming languages, UI/UX design.
