In connection with municipal elections CEC technical control center for web cameras inspected

On December 19, Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade together with Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov inspected the technical control center for web cameras in the administrative building of the commission in connection with the municipal elections to be held on December 23.
According to the media and public relations department of the Central Election Commission Secretariat, CEC Chairman and Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies familiarized themselves with the preparatory work for the installation of webcams, which are especially important for ensuring transparency of elections, and made recommendations in connection with a clear conducting the process under the electoral legislation.
It should be noted that all necessary steps have been taken for free, fair and transparent conducting municipal elections on December 23. All conditions have been created for the free work and activities of local and international observers, representatives of the media and other public institutions throughout the election process. Along with other means, the latest innovations are also successfully applied in order to monitor all election-related processes from beginning to end without interruption, free and unhampered observation and to ensure more complete transparency.
The experience of using webcams that has been successfully applied in Azerbaijan for 11 years allows internet users to watch the voting process online will also be used in the current year’s municipal elections. For the purpose of observing the processes on the election day webcams have been installed at 1000 polling stations (about 20 percent) covering the whole country’s geography. To provide quality and uninterrupted broadcasting through webcams, the installation of cameras, adjustment and further improvement of other technical parameters are constantly kept in the center of attention. On the election day, internet users within the country as well as abroad will have an opportunity to observe the voting process, counting of votes and determination of results live by visiting the CEC website.
