About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

A traditional voluntary blood donation campaign for people suffering from blood disorders was organized today by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies at the initiative of the Azerbaijan Thalassemia Federation.

The ministry’s employees took an active part in the campaign. Hematologists of the Central Blood Bank conducted donors’ health assessment and anemia testing and then the volunteers who meet the medical requirements were allowed to take part in the campaign. Thus, donors participating in the campaign supported the increase in blood supply for people suffering from blood diseases.

Note that the blood samples collected after the examination will be used to treat patients with hemophilia and thalassemia, as well as those who need a blood transfusion.

It should be noted that blood donation not only saves lives, but also has a positive effect on the blood donor’s own immune system. Blood donation, along with cardiovascular diseases, also reduces the risk of diabetes.
