Electronic Security Service: fake messages are sent on behalf of Azerpost
The Electronic Security Service under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport warns citizens about fake messages sent on behalf of Azerpost LLC.
Thus, the content of fake messages sent by cyber fraudsters states that the citizens have not paid customs duty of 10.2 AZN for the delivery of parcels and they are required to follow a fake link to make the payment.
Then citizens are redirected to a fake website, opened on behalf of Azerpost LLC and card account data are requested. When the card account data are provided, the funds available on the account balance fall into the hands of cyber fraudsters.
The Electronic Security Service advises citizens to be extremely careful not to fall prey to such cyber frauds, not to follow the links indicated in messages from strangers and not to provide personal information, as well as to verify the authenticity of the request using alternative means of communication.
Also, if you encounter such a situation, please contact the Electronic Security Service under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport via the website www.cert.az or e-mail reports@cert.az.
