E-Government Executive Group holds its third meeting
A meeting of the Executive Group on e-Government dedicated to the “Government Cloud” (G-cloud) was held in Shamakhi. The event was organized jointly by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
At the event, information was provided on the implementation of the Concept of creating a “Government Cloud” (G-Cloud) and measures in the provision of “cloud” services.
It was noted that the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies has created Azcloud government solutions and developed a draft Plan for Transition of state information systems and reserves to the “Government Cloud”. As part of the Government Cloud project, a number of government agencies have already transferred their information reserves to the Azcloud government data center of AzInTelecom LLC.
In a presentation titled “Innovated G-cloud Azerbaijan” AzInTelecom LLC deputy director Jeyhun Aliyev, who is the executor of the Government Cloud project from the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, spoke about the services and architecture of the Government Cloud, its advantages in meeting the technological demand for growing digital reserves in digital government, modernization of information systems in a virtual cloud environment and international experience in this field.
Speaking at the event, head of executive power of Shamakhi region Tahir Mammadov noted the importance of organization joint awareness-raising events on issues of citizens’ access to electronic services with relevant government entities.
During the meeting, an international expert, Professor John C. Coyle made a presentation titled “Design Thinking” with the involvement of members of the executive group.
As part of the event, the participants visited Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory, and also had free discussions on various topics.
About 60 different government agencies are represented in the E-government Executive Group.
